Choose the cheapest faithful execution path instead of paying full-engine cost for every page.
The web, without the weight.
Altru Browser is an independent adaptive browser project built around an owned native engine: use only as much engine as a page actually needs, keep trust boundaries explicit, and promote capabilities only when the evidence supports them.
Own the browser semantics.
Third-party primitives can help with geometry, rendering, text, networking, or scripting, but Altru Browser keeps the contracts that define browser behavior under its own control.
Formatting, tests, portability, negative cases, and exact-commit evidence gate capability promotion.
No unnecessary telemetry is required by the project design; resource and permission boundaries stay explicit.
Linux runtime verified; Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS compile paths are checked through PlatformHost boundaries.
Desktop and mobile belong to the same system.
A familiar top URL bar remains, but the shell exposes resource decisions and uses a restrained Ukrainian vyshyvanka-inspired geometry rather than cloning Chrome or Safari.
These are design-direction artifacts, not screenshots of a production-ready browser.
Public experiment, not a finished browser.
The native foundation exists and is independently verifiable. Full web compatibility, production JavaScript/Web APIs, mature GPU rendering, complete sandboxing, and generalized performance superiority are not claimed yet.
